Hi Yasir,

Yes, it is a bit busier these days. Sometimes it takes us a little longer to get to messages. Hopefully the ability to create an account on our discussion board and receive an e-mail after a post is responded to will be a helpful new feature.

Regarding MM4 ... by definition, there is no ability for an MM4 connection to address a distribution list that is maintained by the MMSC. The MM4 application would need to maintain its own distribution list and submit to multiple recipients.

However ... with that said ... I do have some good news for you. As a follow-up to the discussion in the earlier thread, I can confirm that the feature that was discussed did get implemented in v5.0.

When a connection arrives via SMTP, you can perform SMTP AUTH with credentials for either an MM4 account defined on the "MMSC VASP" list, or with credentials for an account defined on the old "SMS Users" list.

The "SMS Users" accounts are the accounts that are used to login to the web interface. And they are the accounts which can create distribution lists via the web interface. If you use SMTP AUTH to login as one of these accounts, in v5.0, you can address a distribution list by sending to distributionlistname@mms-domain-name.

Hi Bryce,

Certainly the "email after a post" feature in discussion board helps to track our post easily.

About the solution.. I tested your proposed way and it works very well. What i have found that there is no user stats shows when use the "SMTP login" method.

Than, I have tested the bulk delivery with "WEB login" method and stats was there.

The root cause i found here that logs are generating in SMSOUT-XXXX.txt file under the "nowsms" directory not in the "nowsms>USERS>SMSuser" directory.

Also Let me know about the (tested) max recipients limit in a single D.List.

I am also amazed to see that in V5 MMSCDATE-log files the size of the contents was also there, which i have requested along ago and than forget.

Thanks for your best support.

Hi Yasir,

The log issue is a bug. It looks like we have an oversight that fails to write to the SMS user log when the user submits an MMS message through the SMTP interface (it does log an SMS message submitted through the SMTP interface).

We will add that to our current bug list, and schedule it for a fix.

I've tested the distribution lists up to 10000 recipients.

Yasir,

It appears that this problem has not yet been fixed. I will have to follow-up.

Yasir,

A follow-up. The log problems in this area will be fixed in the next patch update. (Currently expected for Friday, but possibly Monday or Tuesday of next week.)
