Hi, i'm new with this technology and trying to develop sms/mms application (receive and send sms, send mms). Before i start buying GSM Modem, GSM Card or appropriate cell phone, i want to set up with what i have. I have a POcket PC - T-Mobile Phone edition, can i use it as GSM Modem or whatever you call it? Thanks | |||

I would not use a Microsoft based device for this kind of application. To my understanding NowSMS requires that the device support’s AT commands for SMS (ETSI / 3GPP 07.05), and MS based devices are notorious know for not supporting any (or only partial) of those kind of standards. By the way, the same goes for Symbian devices, - 07.05 is only partial supported. Go with a well know brand, in a ‘standard phone’ implementation, that are committed to the GSM standards like SEM or Siemens and a lot of other devices. Enjoy |
