Hello Support,

When I send an MMS via MM1 using a GPRS modem, I seem to have hit a limit of about 60x60 on the image size. No matter how large I make the source image, the image always seems to be around 60x60.

If I send via the MMS Notification / MMS Download from NowSMS MMSC method instead then the image size seems fine.

The GPRS modem has an Orange (UK) SIM in it and we're sending to a variety of UK operators. The model of the GPRS Modem is the Siemens MC35.

I've played around with turning off the image scaling but to no avail. The only thing I haven't tried is choosing the Screen Size option instead of the Max Support Size.

As we're sending via MM1 isn't it true that all the transcoding will happen on the various operator MMSCs so NowSMS may not have much control over it.

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

An update to this problem.

I tweaked the 'MMSMessageSizeLimit' in mmsc.ini and this seemed to solve it. The full posting is at:

The reason I didn't try this before posting is that the discussion seemed to indicate that the setting didn't work.

Anyway, worked for me.

Hi Ben,

That is strange. Those options should not have any effect when sending the MMS message via an operator MMSC. So I am at a loss to explain why this made a difference (unless coincidentally Orange installed an update to their MMSC at the time of your settings tweak).
