Hi, I just send an SMS into a NowSMS server with a GSM modem attached (Multitech GPRS modem). And I don't see any problems ... the message is decoded correctly if it starts with a "*". I also tried "*5", and the message was received correctly. I notice that you're using a Samsung mobile phone as the modem, and maybe there is something peculiar about that device. I'd like to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG that shows the raw message being received. That way we can view the raw data coming in from the modem, and get a better idea of what the problem is. It would be helpful to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG that shows a message that is received correctly, and one that is not received correctly. -bn | ||||

Hi, I don't know what to tell you. I think it is a problem with the modem. The data that we are receiving from the modem is corrupt. And basically, we have to interpret what the modem delivers to us. I was hoping that we'd see some sort of pattern of corruption that maybe we could work around. But in this case, it doesn't look like it. Apparently you've discovered an unusual bug in your modem where it corrupts text messages that start with "*" when delivering them over the GSM modem interface. -bn |
