Hi Sobhit,

Don't focus on the UDH. The format of the ringtones and picture messages for Nokia phones is a Nokia specific format. The UDH is only a small part of the overall format.

In other words, you can't just change the UDH in order to send the content to a different type of phone. You have to completely change the format of the data.

The main alternative to Nokia Smart Messaging is EMS. There are a lot of threads out here on EMS, so I'd encourage you to search to learn more about it.

Basically, when you talk about ring tones in Nokia Smart Messaging, they start out in an RTTTL format, and get encoded in another hex format before the UDH is added.

EMS uses a different ring tone format, iMelody, and the iMelody data actually gets encoded into the UDH. (Whereas, in the Nokia format, the UDH is the same for every ring tone, in the EMS format, the ring tone data goes into the UDH.)

http://ringtonetools.mikekohn.net is a good tool for converting between some of these different formats.

Do a search here on ringtonetools and EMS, and you should find some other helpful info.

Hi,
I'm trying to send a wap push of service indication content format. i manage to send the message to some smsc and get a positive response (A/51), but i don't see any message on my nokia phone. regular SMS messages are sent ok, though.
This is the ucp message i see on the mmt:
00/00163/O/51/00972545908296/97297751775/////////////////4/264/687474703A2F2F64 6F6D61696E2F776F726C642F2048656C6C6F20576F726C6421////1//////01070605040B8423F0/ //45
Can you please tell me what fields i have to fill in order for that the SI will be accepted by the device?
thanks.
