Hi, We faced a problem with scheduled messages, when we use "DelayUntil" parameter NowSMS charges, sets route and places message in the queue. But... BUT there's no way to control submitted messages: reroute (if SMSC's condition changes of even disappeares, customers can make delayd messages up to 6 months), broken statistics (SMSSend issued when message was submitted and if it's so long - impossible to track DR) or just cancel queued messages. What i'm thinking, we've already implemented HTTP pusher, all delayed messages got queued in it and when time comes our daemon pushes them away. Problem – we can’t forward proper message id to the customer in order to track DRs or we have to create a masquerade service (our id = nowsms msgid) but it’s so time consuming and so many faults possible. Fast solution – allow us to set up message ids for submitted messages, like some special parameter “NowSMSMsgId=”. Please let me know, what do you think about that issue. Regards, Alex K.

Hi Alex, I need to discuss this with engineering. Conceptually, I don't see any problem with an option to allow the submitter to assign the ID. It would be the submitter's fault if it reused an ID, and the submitter would need to ensure that they used a different format from NowSMS auto-generated IDs. Hopefully engineering will not see any other issues. -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi Des, I see potential problem here with concatenated messages, we have to calculate message parts. Regards, Alex K.

Hi Alex, Now that I re-read your original message, I don't see any good solutions other than disabling delayed messages. Or setting a limit to how far in the future they can be scheduled. -- Des NowSMS Support |
