How do I get Now.WAP to open port 8080? I have a VX6100, so my phone is stuck on using port 8080. I have Now.WAP running, and I clicked on the HTTP tab, enabled HTTP(WAP2) Proxy, and set the HTTP Proxy Port to 8080. I have a Linksys Router, and I've set up Port forwarding for port 8080 to forward to my computers local IP address(192.168.1.101) But when I run telnet, and try to access port 8080 on my internet IP address, it doesn't work. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I would also be interested in an answer if anyone else has solved this issue.

I assume that on your local network, you can telnet to port 8080 on the local IP address without any problem?

It is possible that your ISP blocks inbound access to port 8080. Many ISPs block 80, because they don't want you running web servers over a cable modem connection. And since 8080 is frequently used by proxies, they might also have restrictions against that.

Even though your phone is fixed on port 8080, try a different port, and see if you get different results from the outside telnet test.

I'm not an expert on Linksys routers ... and this isn't really the type of use that our product was designed for (it is more for service providers than an individual running it behind a cable modem) ... but I have set this up on my home network for my own use. And I do have a few tips ... sometimes when you make a lot of changes to port forwarding, the Linksys router needs to be restarted before it forwards properly. Also note that there is a logging function that you can enable in the Linksys so that you can see what inbound connections are being attempted.
