Hi when i connect to the GUI from nowsms , the "system configuration " doesn't appear anymore. I did create an account for supervision team with less privilege , but when i am connected with my admin account , i could not interact with system configuration. do you know how i can have it back , ( i did clean the cache without effect ) thanks before hand for your help , Br Marc | |||

Hi Marc, Is the whole "Admin" drop down missing, or only the "System Configuration" option? Normally, the only reason for this would be if you are logged in with a user account that does not have Admin access. On an initial install with no user account defined, admin access is allowed from localhost/127.0.0.1 or with a special password displayed by NowSMSInstall terminal window. If you copied user accounts from a windows system, we have seen some file access issues which are typically resolved by using the chown command and resetting the copied files to root ownership. Hi Bryce , thanks for the feedback. By the way , e migrate yesterday from old windows mmsc to the new NextGEN one. and for the story , i loose the system configuration juste before starting the night operation. as we did well prepare the fail over , nothing was supposed to be done on configuration side so we decide to do the swap even with that . this is only the "system configuration" that seems to be hide ( see screenshot )  I did configure the whole mmsc with my account that was admin. yesterday i did create an account for the supervision team with less privikege than the admin. but after a logout , when i connect with my adlmin account , the "system configuration" was disapear like the privilege had been apply also on my account. The problem is that we have the platform in production but i could not interact anymore unless with MMSC.INI or SMSGW .INI file so it is complicate ^^ Regarding the special password displayed on nowsmsinstall , i loose it to be honnest . for the migration , i just copy the MMSCUsers.DB from wondows to nextgen. thanks beforehand for your help , Br Marc | |||

Hi Marc, I forgot that there is a difference in NextGen that user accounts can have full "Admin access" or "Operator access". The latter can access operational data, logs and stats, but does not have access to "System Configuration". In your case, I would remove the MMSCUsers.DB, then run NowSMSInstall in a terminal window and it should report the temporary admin password to use. | |||

Hi Bryce , the problem is that the MMSC is in production now so it means interruption of traffic for 400 000 subscribers or night operation to do that . does it exist another solution to resolve this ? Thanks for your feedback br Marc | |||

Marc, An important correction. these accounts are not MMSC accounts, they are defined in SMSUsers. | |||

So if i have well understand , and to be sure that what we will do you means that i should remove the SMSUsers.D2A and SMSUsers.D2I files , then reinstall with NowSMSInstall , ? note that our current version is the alpha one. do we have to take the same file that we use for the alpha version or you did merge already the alpha version into the standard version of Nowsms? is the reinstalling of the nowsms will impact the traffic ? another question , if i install nowsms with the same source on another server , is the temporary password will be the same or you use , such a random function and the password will be different ? sorry for the quantity of questions , br Marc | |||

That's right. Remove SMSUsers.D2A and SMSUsers.D2I You run NowSMSInstall (from the alpha version)), but it is not necessary to actually install anything, The command checks to see if there is an admin account defined and if not, reports a temporary password that can be e used for access | |||
