I will soon be starting a website where mobile use forms a large part of the interactivity. We have decided on using NowSMS for this, as it will work out a lot cheaper than paying a 3rd party provider. We first looked at a gsm modem, but it now seems that using a phone instead will also have cost benefits. My question is which features will work using a T68i through bluetooth a a GSM modem? | |||

The primary limitation of using a phone as a modem is that they cannot be used for receiving MMS. Sending and receiving SMS is fine, and sending MMS is fine. However, receiving MMS is only possible on dedicated GSM/GPRS modem devices (because the MMS client on an actual mobile phone always seems to grab the MMS before it gets routed over the modem interface). -bn |
