I just installed the Trial Version.

I am able to send a test sms with the web Interface, but incoming SMS will not processing. Under "2-way" and then "view" the SMS is listed with Status "Queued".

I also defined a rule how too handle incoming sms, but the SMS still are "queued".

Is there any solution?

Hi Thomas,

That is strange.

I do not understand how a message would stay queued with those settings.

I assume there are no other 2-way commands defined? If an HTTP command for a prefix matching Miau was also defined, and there was a problem processing the HTTP command, then this would be possible.

Thee must be something obvious that I am missing. Could I see the SMSGW.INI file that was created by these config settings?

Hi Des,

there are two 2-way-commands defined (see screenshot).

And where do I find that SMSGW.INI-File?

Hi Thomas,

The SMSGW.INI will be found in the directory in which NowSMS is installed, usually defaulting under Program Files (x86). It is where we save the configuration settings.

For the inbound message to remain "Queued"...(unless the NowSMS service is not started)...it would suggest that "Process Received SMS Messages" is not checked. So I am very confused what is happening.

In order to speed up the amount of time required to resolve this problem, let me suggest the following:

1.) On the "serial #" page, enable the SMSDEBUG.LOG.

2.) Stop and start the SMS service.

3.) Send in another message for processing.

4.) E-mail the SMSGW.INI and SMSDEBUG.LOG to nowsmstech@nowsms.com, and include "Attention: Des" in the subject line of the message.

I found those files in the hidden directory c:\ProgramData

Hi Thomas,

Are the received SMS messages sitting in ProgramData\NowSMS\SMS-IN as files with .IN extension?

I am still failing to understand why these messages are stuck.

However, the fact that you located SMSGW.INI and SMSDEBUG.LOG under ProgramData is interesting...and may be relevant.

For several years, the NowSMS behavior was to store data under ProgramData. At startup, we look for SMSGW.INI in that location, and if present, we store data in that directory structure for compatibility reasons for those who are upgrading.

A new install wold not use the ProgramData structure.

I'm guessing that at some point an older version of NowSMS was installed on this PC. And since I don't have any better ideas, I'm thinking that the current install is confused.

Can you uninstall NowSMS...then verify ProgramData/NowSMS is deleted...then attempt reinstall?

Yes, this could be a possible solution. Indeed I used first an old installation. A friend of mine sent me an old Installation file as recommendation. That old Installation I just have updated with the current Version.

I'll uninstall NowSMS and reinstall it.

Thanks for your Support!

I'll Report.
