Hi team,
since some days our Outbound SMS queue is containing messaage and this delay has negative impact on our services.
we have a license of 30 SMS per minute and we dont think that our products are sending more than those 30 SMS per minute.

how i can identifiy the root cause of this queue ? to knows if its a proble of license capacity or some other problems maybe from telco side.

Best regards

Hi,

What type of outbound SMSC are you sending messages to?

What is an estimate of the speed that you are actually experiencing?

Is it real low, such as 1 message per minute? Or?

If it is 1 message per minute, this suggests a problem with your license key. Did you recently install an updated license? What version of NowSMS are you currently running?

The SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG records a timestamp when each message is dispatched upstream.
The SMSWEB-yyyymmdd.LOG records a timestamp when each message is submitted.

We would like to see log files from your system so that we can understand the pattern of throughput that you are experiencing.

Please e-mail those log files (1 day only - pick a day when you have the large queue) to nowsmstech@nowsms.com.

Regards,

Hi,

please find response below

What type of outbound SMSC are you sending messages to?

SMS

What is an estimate of the speed that you are actually experiencing?

We think lesser than our license (30 SMS PM) because we checked what our application is sending to the gateway and its like maybe 18 SMS per minue

Is it real low, such as 1 message per minute? Or?

If it is 1 message per minute, this suggests a problem with your license key. Did you recently install an updated license? What version of NowSMS are you currently running?

i dont think its 1 sms per minute but i am not sure also, we are using 2020 version of Now SMS. we made the update yeterday ( before we had the 2018 version). i dont think there is a problem with the license, i am able to see it in the serial# tab

The SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG records a timestamp when each message is dispatched upstream.
The SMSWEB-yyyymmdd.LOG records a timestamp when each message is submitted.

i think its shwon 30 message per minute but i can shared with you in private so you can check but i am observing also that one sms can be splited in this log in 3 messages so in final it will not be a 30 SMS per minute license !

Hi,

I think I understand the problem.

If a text message is longer than 160 characters (GSM character set) or 70 characters (Unicode character set), then it must be split into multiple text messages to be delivered. (This old article describes the encoding in more detail: https://nowsms.com/long-sms-text-messages-and-the-160-character-limit) These separate text messages include headers that allow the receiving device to reassemble the original long text, and make it appear as a one long message.

Unfortunately, the actual delivery includes multiple messages.

NowSMS licensing has always treated this the same way.

However, you may sometimes see periods of time where NowSMS sends more than 30MPM. We employ an algorithm that we call burst mode, which reclaims unused capacity from the previous hour. (https://nowsms.com/burst-mode-licensing-support)
