Hello,

I have a received an SMS from my client using a US-based cellphone with this file content under SMS-IN folder. Btw, the file has a .SMS extension.

[SMS-IN]
ModemName=Sony Ericsson GC79 Wireless Modem
Sender=+1xxxxxxxxxx
UDH=050A03005F13
Data=98E530089D06ADEBEDFA9C1E06ADC32077F8179E87DDA07518E43E87EB6ED03C0C9AAFEBEC5F3BAD07B9C3A0353D1C02D1E775381C0EAAB7DB6D97CB059297E1EC3C480622A7E7A01108968BD572335B8C56A301
Binary=1

I have a program that converts these hex chars into string but at this example, it failed (the output is simply garbled characters).

Can you pls help me convert it to its correct string representation? This is the same application that processes SAR Problems below this thread.

Thanks.

Btw, Debug=Yes has been set in my SMSGW.ini and I looked at the SMSIN-20051019.LOG, this is what I found:

2005-10-19 21:25:59,+1xxxxxxxxxx,Binary,050A03005F1398E530089D06ADEBEDFA9C1E06ADC32077F8179 E87DDA07518E43E87EB6ED03C0C9AAFEBEC5F3BAD07B9C3A0353D1C02D1E775381C0EAAB7DB6D97C B059297E1EC3C480622A7E7A01108968BD572335B8C56A301,

For privacy, I changed my customer's mobile number to xxx.

Pls help as I need to decrypt these hex data. My customers are simply sending text messages, nothing else.

Appreciate your response.

Hi,

The user is using some EMS text formatting in there message.

There currently is no option in NowSMS to strip out EMS headers (although this is something that we need to consider doing).

My suggestion would be to reply back indicating that the message uses formatting that cannot be understood.
