I have a Nokia 6230 Phone and want sent SMS messages thru NowSMS. I am connected via BlooTooth but when I try to connect via GSM Phone I select any of the modems that list and return an error Unablke to initializate Modem. What can I do? | |||

Hi Rafeal, Only one application can have a COM port open at a time. The Bluetooth drivers create a virtual COM port for connecting to the modem. So when NowSMS goes to connect to the modem, you need to make sure that no other application (like Nokia PC Suite) is connected to the modem. In other words, the phone should not show an active bluetooth connection until NowSMS actually tries to connect to the modem. Try going into Phone & Modem Options in the Windows Control Panel, and under the Modems section, try Diagnostics to query the modem. This will help you verify that everything is setup correctly at the Windows level. Then configure NowSMS to use the named Windows modem driver instead of going direct to the COM port. (Bluetooth drivers tend to create a lot of virtual COM port definitions, so it can be tough to guess which one is the actual modem interface. It's easier to go with the named modem driver that has been configured.) -bn | |||
