Hi,

Does nowsms support OTA Settings (either WAP or OMA) for Nokia S40 Version 2 handsets ? Like the N6230i, N6170 & N7270 ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi David,

You use OMA settings for those handsets.

Hello Bryce,
I have a problem with OMA settings for this set of devices too.
I tried to setup sync settings in oma format and looks like settings is ok, but phones from s40v2 set creates sync account without assigned internet profile and I even can't assign it manualy. (Generaly, I very confused with manual setup for these devices, why nokia did this??? :/)

I have assumption that these phones should be configured with internet connection profile in sync settings body, like in following example:

<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="NAPDEF">
<parm name="NAPID" value="X1" />
....
</characteristic>

<characteristic type="APPLICATION">
<parm name="APPID" value="w5"/>
<parm name="TO-NAPID" value="X1" />
....
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>

Or maybe change TO-NAPID to TO-PROXYID
But if I right is it possible to connect sync settings to existing connection profile? (Let suppose that we know napid or proxy for profile created by previous settings process)

Don't worry about NowSMS. It's specific settings supporting Nokia s40 SE.
Try to put <parm name="INTERNET"/> in NAPDEF

I don't think they support linking the settings to an existing profile ... other than the profile that is set as the default "INTERNET" profile.

To do this, in your SyncML settings, you include <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="INTERNET"/>

You indicate that settings should be considered as the default internet settings by including <parm name="INTERNET"/> under the NAPDEF section of the settings.
