Our company would like to buy PCI GSM modem and use it for sending/reacieving SMS/MMS messages. Are there any issues with PCI GSM modems? there is the link for the modem http://www.control.com.sg/docs/T-ModemPCI_EN.pdf

Hi, I don't have enough detail for whether or not that particular modem would work. But I would expect a very good probability chance that it would work. NowSMS uses ETSI GSM 07.05 commands for sending/receiving SMS messages. That modem should work if it supports those standards. I'd suggest trying to get an eval unit of the modem to try it. -bn

P.S. - I just noticed that you also mentioned MMS. For MMS sending/receiving, NowSMS uses portions of the ETSI GSM 07.07 standard for making GPRS connections with the modem. It expects the modem to support the AT+CGDCONT and ATD*99# commands. (This support is pretty standard in any modems that support GPRS, because these are the basic standard commands for making a data connection over GPRS/EDGE with a GPRS modem.) -bn |
