I am using the NowSMS (2006) via an SMPP connection to connect to an SMSC. Messages sent from the web interface can be recieved and read by Noika and Sony Ericsson handsets. Text messages sent to a Motorola V400 and V600 are received - but cannot be display on the handsets. Mobile to Mobile SMS is not a problem Changing the 7 bit packed encoding flag does not help. A Flash SMS does get displayed - however the text received is garbage. Suggestions? | |||

Hi Paul, I've never encountered an issue like this. You're just sending a simple text message from the NowSMS web interface, and it gets received fine on Nokia and SonyEricsson handsets, but it shows up as garbage on Motorola phones? I cannot imagine why this would be. When you try the 7-bit packed encoding option, do the messages then show up as garbage on the Nokia and SE phones? Does the "SMSC Character Set" setting make a difference? I just can't imagine what could cause such a problem. -bn |
