"It is possible to override the sender if you have a direct SMSC connection (or a connection through an aggregator). "

Can u explain it more?? what is a direct SMSC connection or a connection through an aggregator??

It could be very usefeful to permit user to send they messagges with they name instead of number of the gsm modem,

Thank you

I am referring to an SMS connection through an SMS service provider, or through a mobile operator directly.

In this case, you create an account with the service provider (charges for this can vary quite a bit between providers), and you connect to them over TCP/IP to send & receive messages.

That is what all of those other settings in NowSMS are about when you define an SMSC connection ... different types of protocols that can be used for sending messages through a service provider.

I also use the term "aggregator" quite a bit ... and I should probably explain that as well.

Going directly to a mobile operator is usually your most expensive option ... unless you have high volumes of traffic. Most SMS service providers function as aggregators, buying SMS capacity in bulk from different mobile operators, and using those volume discounts to offer better prices than you would get by going direct.
