Dear Malcom, I have installed the trial version of NowSMS on WinXP. I was able to send normal as well as flash message using my Nokia 6280 with a USB data cable connected to my laptop. But I am not bale to receive any SMS from outside. Could you throw some light where the problem would be ? I have followed the instructions given in the manual. To be specific the modem test ( under SMSC tab ) is shown to be successful. Also under 2-way tab "Process Received SMS Messages" is checked. I have also setup a command where all messages are replied back with the with ECHO ( just as shown in the manual ). I have also restart the services after changing the configurations. Thanks

Dear All, I have also tried testing with LG B2050. Here, too, I am able to send messages but not able to receive them. I have also turned on the debug mode but not able to see anything which can refer to potential problem. I am appending the log file at the end of this post. I have also followed the step on the post http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/4520.ht ml. Please let me know where I am getting wrong. Thanks in advance, Samyak

Hi, The Nokia 6280 is a "Series 60" phone (Symbian operating system). Unfortunately, a limitation of all current "Series 60" devices is that the GSM modem interface of these devices does not support receiving SMS messages. They support sending only. I don't have any information about the LG B2050. My general advice is to try the different "SMS Message Storage" options under "Properties" for the modem in the "SMSC" list, as it is possible that one of these settings will work. It is also quite likely that LG didn't implement any support for receiving SMS messages over the GSM modem connection. We may get some clues from an "SMSDEBUG.LOG" (you mentioned including one, but I don't see it). -- Malcolm Now Wireless Support |
