Hi Salim,

The Nokia N series phones are all based on the S60 (formerly called Series 60) platform. They work for sending, but not for reeiving.

I haven't personally tested many of the latest SonyEricsson models (seems like there were just a whole lot of them released) ... but I know that their UIQ models (P800/P9xx/M600) don't have a GSM modem interface that supports SMS sending or receiving. As far as recent models, I've used the K800, K750, W810 and W800 for both sending/receiving SMS. But some of the newer model numbers are a bit confusing ... as some newly announced W and K series models use the UIQ interface, which I assume will break the GSM modem interface for those newer models.

So don't go bleeding edge on a newer model phone (and for figuring out which new SonyEricsson phones use UIQ, I've found the spec charts on www.gsmarena.com to be helpful). The K750 and W800 are a couple of years old, so can probably be picked up relatively inexpensive.
