Hello, we are currently using a razr connected via USB to send SMS. We are seeing an output of about 10 messages per minute. Can we see a significant improvement by using a different phone/modem? Thank you! | |||

Probably not ... that is pretty good for SMS over circuit-switched. If your operator supports SMS over packet-switched (e.g., GPRS), then this will be faster. Under "Properties" for the modem in the "SMSC" list of NowSMS, try setting "SMS Access" to "GPRS". If the operator does not support SMS over GPRS, some modems will fall back to using the circuit-switched network, and you will not notice any difference in speed. Other times, you will not be able to send any messages because the operator has the support partially enabled on their network, but not enabled enough to use it. Unfortunately, support for SMS over GPRS seems relatively rare these days, as operators seem to want to discourage bulk SMS via a modem connection. | |||
