Hello, I am new to NowSMS. Is it normal that there is a latency between the time I send the SMS from the NowSMS page and the time it is received on the phone? Also, it seems that sometimes, the messages just get stuck, and they are all released at the same time. I am using a Nokia 6100 as Modem with a cable, in the US. Also, I tried to send a Wap Push message, and never received it, even though everything seems to go fine. Thank you | |||

Unless there is a problem with your modem, or the operator SMSC, no that is not normal. You can put the NowSMS gateway into debug mode so that we can see what is going on ... if there are intermittent errors communicating with the modem for example. To do this, manually edit SMSGW.INI, and under the [SMSGW] section header, add Debug=Yes. Then restart the NowSMS gateway service. The gateway will produce an SMSDEBUG.LOG file as it runs. E-mail this log to nowsms@now.co.uk, or post it here, and we can take a closer look at it. At least we can tell you whether or not there is a delay with the messages leaving the gateway. Regarding the WAP Push, which mobile operator are you subscribed to? Are you trying to send a WAP push message to a subsciber of the same mobile operator? Unfortunately, the cross operator SMS interoperability used by US operators seems to silently reject binary SMS messages, and will only pass text SMS messages across carriers. -bn |
