I am using the demo software version. I want to measure the SMS throughput (SMS/minute) of my phone. In "SMSC tab", my SMSC connection is COM4 for my Nokia phone. In the Properties window, I can select SMS Access as GSM or as GPRS. When I select GPRS, the SMS rate is faster. I use tmobile USA and have NO data plan. In the "2 way" tab, I configure "command to execute" as c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /c echo Z So this creates a continuous send and receive of SMS. 1. I discovered the GPRS setting gives a faster rate. But I don't have a data plan and understand that in order to use GPRS, my phone must have a data plan. Then what is happening when I choose GPRS option? 2. When selecting GPRS, is the SMS going through my phone, or is there a hidden SMS gateway that nowsms is connecting to? (I dont have data plan) |
