"£" is part of standard character set.

Now, When I send sms with "£" sign, nowsms treat it as unicode & deduct three credits agianst 1 for SMS of 158 characters.

Why?

NowSMS knows that this is a single character. It won't treat a message as Unicode simply because this character is present.

Are you sure that it is NowSMS that is deciding that the message must be sent using Unicode format?

It may be your provider that does not understand it.

Can you show me an SMSDEBUG.LOG and/or SMPPDEBUG.LOG that shows NowSMS accepting this message and transmitting it to your SMS service provider?
