I have just come across 'now SMS'and was wondering if it could help my website. I have created a simple GUI which generates a keyword & SMS text.
I have found a SMS service provider but am having trouble getting over the next phase, developing the link with this service and developing the application to do this. Now its only a 160 character text that is sent out on a one off request only through receipt of a keyword.

Any advice would be great as I am a bit stuck & everyone keeps saying its easy but thats not actually helping.

thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

Is your SMS provider HTTP based?

If your SMS provider supports one of the SMS-specific protocols (like SMPP), then it is easy because you just need to know the host name, port, and user account information.

HTTP is more complicated, because every provider has their own proprietary URL format.

So two questions ...

1.) Who is the SMS provider? (I might already have some information on them.)

2.) Do you have a document that describes the interface to their system? (Either point me to a URL on their web site, or e-mail the document to nowsms@now.co.uk, and I'll take a look.)
