I can't find a way to define TON and NPI in the advanced settings for an SMPP connection.

I enter values of 1 and press OK. But if I go back into the advanced settings again, the fields are blank.

How can I set the TON and NPI values?!?

Hi,

There does seem to be a bug introduced in recent releases of NowSMS, where these "Advanced Settings" are not properly saved during the initial configuration of an SMPP connection.

There is no problem editing the settings for a connection once it has been defined and saved once.

When editing the "Advanced Settings" for an SMPP connection, note that it is necessary to press OK on the Advanced Settings screen, then OK again on the SMPP Connection, and finally Apply on the SMSC list ... in order to actually save the settings.

Even with this problem, during the initial configuration, as long as you do not go back in to review or edit these settings again before saving the settings by pressing "Apply" on the SMSC list, the settings will be saved properly ... with the exception of the "Encode long text messages with 7-bit packed encoding" setting, which appears to remain in its default UNchecked setting.

After pressing Apply on the SMSC list, it is recommended to go back in and review the "Advanced Settings" for the connection, and change the settings if necessary. This problem only affects the initial configuration of a new SMPP connection. There is not a problem editing the settings of an existing SMPP connection.

We will correct this in the next update, but in the interim, an easy work-around is to save the connection (Apply from the "SMSC" list). Then go back in and edit the Advanced Settings for the connection as needed.
