I download NowSms 2008 trial version but can't solve the problem with SMS receiving/sending. I've tried to connect Nokia 3110 and then Samsung SGH E830 but it won't work. In the moment the mobile phone is added I got the message "sucesfully tested" through SMSC tab. And after "apply" message button is clicked (application restart) "all connections OK" message appears. but still can't get 2-way system working. Test sms is sent on the mobile phone that is connected with PC even I can see that it is received on Service tab, but suddenly red message "Modem Failure -- Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests" shows. there are two rows from SMSOUT-20090409.LOG, obviously they are talking that modem is NOT connected!? how come? maybe someone can help me? 2009-04-09 22:12:51,System,,Nokia 3110 Classic USB Modem,Modem Failure -- Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests. 2009-04-09 22:21:23,System,,SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem,Modem Failure -- Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests. tried to change SMS access, sms message storage... no help. }

it's about the mobile phone; neither nokia 3110 nor Samsung SGH E830 can't work as modem

Hi, It is very strange that the modem would pass the test, but then experience problems later. The "Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests" error message indicates that Windows could not open a connection to the modem. In some cases, this could happen if some other software has opened up a connection to the modem (but usually if this is the case, there is a different error). After you see this error, what happens if you try to test the modem in NowSMS ... or delete it and try to re-add it? What about the Phone and Modem options applet in the Windows Control Panel? Are you able to query the modem from the diagnostics section? -bn |
