Hi Tommy,

For the firewall question, it depends on what firewall you are using.

If it is just Windows firewall, then you can add the NowSMS ports in the Firewall area of the Control Panel. (or add smsgws.exe and mmsc.exe to the exception list)

Regarding the MMS question, please see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm. This link explains how MMS works ... and in most situations, you need to define an "MMSC Routing" with settings specific to your operator, so that the MMS message is sent via the operator MMSC.

This link explains how to define this "MMSC Routing" over a modem:

http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm

Hey there, here I am again

I've noticed some things that I can not understand

1. nowSMS can go in loop ... and continue to send SMS or MMS, Why?

2. what the most stable solution, if you want a reliable solution

3. I can not send SMS to multiple recipients, why?

4. I'm using right now, a nokia 6300 phone but switch to a SE K750i would this change anything on the operation?

Sincerely,
Tommy

You need to check "Use specific network connection (GPRS Modem)", and specify the details for connecting to the operator MMSC.

It looks like you are trying to use an old version of NowSMS, as newer versions have a button "Lookup Operator Settings" which will preload the settings for many mobile operators.

You can also find these settings at the following link:

http://blog.nowsms.com/2008/06/mobile-operator-mmsc-settings.html

Regarding the problem sending to multiple recipients ... this is likely an issue of using an older version of NowSMS and a Nokia phone as a modem. The Nokia phone modem implementation in recent models is very unstable. Newer versions of NowSMS detect that the device is a Nokia phone and automatically slows down talking to the modem to make it work better.

Hi Tommy,

For sales information, you can contact our sales department via any of the contact points listed at http://www.nowsms.com/contact.htm.

Load balancing will occur by default if there are multiple SMSC connections defined.

Do you mean delivery receipts? If so, they work only with some modems (and I am not sure about which models).

You can find some more information about how to request them and process the receipts here: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/24078.html

I do know why your MMS sending is not working.

The most common problem is that the modem route under "MMSC Routing" is not set as the "Default Route".

In the NowSMS statistics, the "MMS processed (VASP)" number should increase. The "MMS Sent (MMSC)" number should not increase. Is this what you see?
