Hi all I already look several problem with GPRS and for some problem it didn't give me clear answer. I'm using Wavecom modem and do testing suing hyperterminal (Win2k) and found some problems that i hope u guys can help 1. I trying connect GPRS and already follow all steps : +CGATT, +CGDCONT, +CGQREQ but when i trying send +CGACT=1,1 it give the reply : +CME ERROR:149. And when i send ATD*99***1#, it give me unknown result and ended with "NO CARRIER" (I already look some questions similar like this but i didn't quite get the solution). Can some one tell me with simple answer. 2. How can i send SMS over GPRS (with AT command)? 3. If i already connect GPRS by manual connect (i connect from window) then i want to send AT command via hyperterminal, How i can do it since port already used? Thanks in advance, Hansen | |||

Hi Hansen, Apologies for the delay in responding to your message. This is a support forum for the Now SMS/MMS Gateway product, so priority goes to replies to issues relating to the product.
All that is required is the AT+CGDCONT and ATD*99# commands. Note that many Wavecom modems do not support these commands without a firmware upgrade. So if AT+CGDCONT commands return an ERROR response, you likely need a firmware update. {2. How can i send SMS over GPRS (with AT command)?} I would suggest that you read ETSI GSM 07.07, and look at the AT+CGSMS command.
You can't. This is one reason that I like the Sierra Wireless Aircard 750 (and probably the only reason that I like it, because it can be a bit tempermental to get setup). The Aircard includes a driver that establishes a GPRS connection through a network driver interface ... and while the GPRS connection is active, you still have the ability to send AT commands to a modem interface. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any way to do this with an external modem ... and I have not had positive experience with other PC card modems that claim to do this. But it works well with the Sierra Wireless Aircard 750. -bn |
