New to NowSMS & experiencing issues with files queueing in the C:\Program Files\NowSMS\Q\ directory. This causing long delay sending to our GSM modem; which is a Nokia phone plugged into COM serial port.
Files always start with SAR & then the mobile number:
SAR-mobile number-27-4-1.req
SAR-mobile number-27-4-2.req
SAR-mobile number-27-4-3.req
etc...
CAn anyone help ?

Hi Phil,

These "SAR-" files are normal. These are message IDs assigned to any long messages (i.e., text messages longer than 160 characters, binary messages longer than 140 bytes, Unicode messages longer than 70 characters).

I suppose it is possible that your modem has a problem with long messages?

I haven't heard of this being a problem with Nokia phones. It is a problem with the GSM modem implementation in Motorola phones which have a bug that prevents them from being able to send out any long messages or any other messages that contain user data header (UDH).

Take a look at the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG ... what error is being reported on these messages?

What version of NowSMS are you running?

What is the model of the Nokia phone?

Many of the recent Nokia phone models have a very poor GSM modem implementation. Recent versions of NowSMS have started adding forced delays when it detects that the modem is a Nokia phone because of timing problems in the Nokia GSM modem implementation.

Let's take a look at that log for starters ... but also let me know the NowSMS version and Nokia phone model.
