The connection type i use was bluetooth and infrared ( with the 9210 i used sireal cable)
in most case i got error msg :

The SonyEricsson P900 will definitely not work, as it's inbuilt modem does not support SMS functionality.

The Nokia 9210/7650/6600 should all work, however Nokia phones that use the Symbian OS, can only be used to send messages, and not receive them.

I don't recognise any of these errors:

" error 00... could not getnumberId"
or
"port in use"

As being NowSMS error messages.

Perhaps these are errors that you get when you query the modem in the Windows Control Panel?

We often recommend that if you are having problems connecting to a modem with NowSMS, you should go into the Windows Control Panel, select Phone and Modem options, highlight your modem, select Properties/Diagnostics/Query Modem. And verify that Windows can actually talk to the modem.

"port in use" is an error message that I have seen "Query Modem" return before. It means that another application has the port open. Only one application can be talking to the modem at a time.

If you have any software installed on your PC, such as the Nokia PC Suite, that software may be automatically initiating a connection to your modem ... preventing other applications from connecting to the modem.

If you are having a problem like this, you need to either de-install the other software, or configure it to not automatically connect to the modem.

10x 4 the info.
all the error that I wrote were from the Windows Control Panel/Properties/Diagnostics/Query Modem

regard to "port in use" I passed it and now
I get
( i dont remember exactly the error msg, but it was something like " error 00... could not getDeviceId" ).
anyway when i use the bluetooth and click Query Modem i got on the device msg "accept the connection" and then i got the error on the PC
so it looks that the connection to device was establish.
i was thinking maybe i should change config on the pc ?

BTW,when I'm trying to connect bluetooth sireal connection i got an generic error

Dan,

Bluetooth configurations can often be a little tricky to setup initially.

What I find works for me is that I configure a dial-up networking connection for the Bluetooth modem.

Once I've done that ... for the initial setup, I make one attempt at dial-up networking. After that, I am able to select the "Bluetooth Modem" entry to be able to use the modem with NowSMS.

Unfortunately, some of this can depend on the Bluetooth software being used.

One thing I've noticed is that there are often two entries setup. There is a "Bluetooth serial port", and a "Bluetooth Modem" which are different virtual COM ports. I always use the "Bluetooth Modem" driver.
