I have issue with 2-way sms, I was unable to setup it using Nokia N82, Nokia 6680. I have 2-way commands filled correctly but it seems that Nowsms is not receiving inbound sms at all. Sms Received Display at Service Tab doesn't show anything, thus when sms is received, phone shows message but nowsms doesn't. I have also tried all options in "Sms Message Store dropdown" (Device Memory, Sim Card etc.) thic is in Modem Properties dialog. After all I have to ask what kind of phones are compatible for 2-way and if there is any list of phones known to work with 2-way function. I am sure that 2-way function is not limited in trial version... that shouldn't be problem in my case... at least nothing is written on 2-way tab. Please share experience with 2-way function and phones compatible with it. Thanks in advance, | |||

Hi, Unfortunately, all Nokia Series 60 (Symbian) phones, and all Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition or later, only support sending SMS messages via the GSM modem interface. They don't support receiving SMS messages via the GSM modem interface. If you have to use a phone as a modem, SonyEricsson phones generally have a good full GSM modem implementation (except for the P and X series which use UIQ/Symbian or Windows Mobile). I would recommend using a dedicated modem device instead of a phone, if possible for your configuration. By dedicated modem, I'm referring to modem devices that accept a SIM card ... manufacturers like Wavecom, Multitech, iTegno, Falcom, and others. In particular, we've found that there are a lot of good inexpensive USB stick modems on the market these days. A few recently tested models include Option ICON 322, SonyEricsson MD300, Novatel MC950D, Sierra Wireless Compass 885 ... and we've also had good reports about a variety of models from Huawei and ZTE. The dedicated modems are nice because you can also use them for receiving MMS. We've yet to see a "phone as a modem" implementation that supported receiving MMS via the modem interface because the MMS client on the mobile phone always gets in the way. -- Des NowSMS Support |
