I love this forum, all the sms expert is here! Can i know how to do this: Certain website you need to register first before you can access to it. After you have been regsitered, you will receive an sms notification let you know your id & password, cool right? my question is, how to do this & what system they use? any website to refer to? many thanks. You have several possibilities...
why do u want people to receive the password via SMS ? Is it to confirm they are the owner of the GSM ? If yes u should ask them to send an SMS to confirm the registration and send them the password via email.
If ur system is bad designed u can receive thousands of registration that would result in thousands of SMS sent, and a big cost for u.
Also when u ask the people to send information, this information must contain a key to prevent people activating other accounts than their account.
The most important thing about SMS is security,
and revenues. If u dont need that then use emails ;)

Hi fred, thanks for your feedback. I like your idea. Agreed that should use email insead of sms for security & cost purpose. But where can i get the source code/script? I've search thru hotscript.com but cannot find anything on these? I really need someone to help me. :-(

Jason,

If your system is not somehow related to confirming that someone is the owner of a particular phone number, then I wouldn't use SMS, it's too expensive.

And if you have reasons to use SMS, put limits to the number of messages that you will send to a particular phone number, so that you don't get people running up your SMS charges just for fun ... or attempting to hack your system.

Fred's suggestions are good. I don't have any suggestinos for sending e-mail from a script. But I'm sure you can find something as that's a pretty common task ...

Hi I like to refer the above Anonymous post to a website called www.mysmsaddress.com. It allows you to put up a SMS gateway on your website as a plugin complete with web smpp and http interface
