I am trying to setup Managed Alerts to multiple email recipients. I have my MTA properly defined, because defining a single email address in the Managed Alerts section works fine.

When I attempt to define multiple email addresses, using comma delimiter as the documentation indicates, the MTA rejects the email from NowSMSC GW. I get the following:

RCPT TO:<mail@company.com,mail2@company.com>
553.1.3 <mail@company.com,mail2@company.com>... Invalid route address.

After reviewing SMTP specifications, I found this:
RCPT To:<destination email address> This identifies the receipient of the email message. This command can be repeated multiple times for a given message in order to deliver a single message to multiple receipients.

So, I believe the Manager Alerts would work for multipel recipients if it could send a seperate "RCPT TO:" line for each individual email address specified in the Send Alerts to field, which is comma delimited. The current syntax for RCPT TO: that nowsmscgw is using for multiple email recipients is incorrect.

Hi Frank,

As you have surmised, the alert e-mails were not designed to support multiple recipients.

It would be a worthwhile idea to support multiple recipients, and I will get this added to the engineering queue.

Thanks for the response and adding to the wish list.

May I suggest you update the documentation to accurately reflect the products intended use of this feature, as you described? Page 58 of the 2009 Gateway manual states, "The "Send Alerts to" field can contain a comma-delimited list of one or more recipients to
receive the e-mail alerts".
