Are you referring to WAP Push and signing the message with the IMSI (NETWPIN or USERNETWPIN)?

(I don't know how else the IMSI would be of use.)

I am not aware of any parameter in the CIMD protocol where the IMSI could be included.

Can they reference any specification that defines this?

Are they referring to an IMSI assigned to your account, or the IMSI of the recipient?

Eventhough we have been assigned to our account but we need to the IMSI of the sender which is shared by the client.

I think I understand now. The CIMD specification does allow for an originating IMSI (associated with sender).

However, this parameter is only defined for messages being delivered by the SMSC, not for messages submitted to the SMSC.

We could add support for this parameter. However, because the CIMD specification does not define the parameter for this use, I still might not understand.

Please ask your provider for an example of how the IMSI should be encoded so that we are not guessing.

They asked to set the originated IMSI properly and submit the message.

Pls. let me know how to set the originated IMSI and send the message in Now SMS gateway.

You need to ask them for an example. The CIMD protocol does not define an IMSI parameter for the CIMD message submit transaction.

If they can give you an example (packet dump or specification reference), we will add support. We cannot add support without more technical detail, as the CIMD 2.0 protocol does not define an IMSI parameter for the message submit transaction...making it unclear what your provider actually means by their request.

Ok, I will ask the same. Is it possible to achieve the same functionality using SMPP or any other medium in NOKIA SMSC. Pls. suggest.

Hi,

Pending an example (specification reference or packet dump) from your provider, we do not have any further information.

The CIMD protocol does not define an IMSI parameter for the CIMD message submit transaction. We would have to guess as to how the provider wishes the IMSI to be included.

I apologise for not answering your follow-up question regarding SMPP. There is no IMSI related parameter defined in the SMPP specification.

Your provider really needs to provide some technical information, perhaps there is some specification addendum that explains how they expect the IMSI parameter to be included.
