Hi,

We are having an issue when passing Binary SMS through the 2 Way SMS service as it's sending through a PID of 00 to my page PID=@@PID@@ yet the PID was set as 127 when sent originally?

Hi Tim,

Does the SMSIN-yyyymmdd.LOG record associated with the message show the PID value?

I don't think there's a problem with 2-way SMS and PID values, but I'm wondering if we're seeing the PID value at the point at which we receive the message.

Hi Des,

No the log doesn't show the PID, I did wonder this as I only found out it was meant to be 127 when the person testing informed me (as I send back out what I received).

Slight delay on the update as I didn't get the email notification from the forums.

Hi Tim,

Maybe the e-mail notification ended up in a spam folder? I do see a record of it being sent out. But maybe there was a glitch. (I hope not, because overall this system has been quite reliable.)

In all of my tests, if the PID is present in the received message, it gets recorded in the log and it gets passed to the 2-way command if @@PID@@ is in the command string.

For extra verification, you might want to setup a controlled test and run a trace with Wireshark to see if the PID is present in the inbound SMS (I assume you are receiving via SMPP).

Hi Des,

I will do some more testing - Thanks for the help.

On a slightl unrelated note (but without creating a new thread, is it possible to stop events being logged in the windows application log?

Hi Tim,

Yes, there is a setting. In SMSGW.INI, under the [SMSGW] header, add:

DisableEventLog=Yes
