When I try to add a new modem on Now SMS/MMS Gateway I see this error:

Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests

I try to change my mobile of port but don't work...
My mobile is Samsung Galaxy 5.

Hi,

Before spending a lot of time on this, I should mention that most Samsung Galaxy devices do not provide an SMS compatible modem port that is accessible to the computer. Older phones used to provide modem support as a standard feature, but modem support is more rare in modern smart phones.

For best results, a dedicated USB modem device is recommended instead of using a phone as a modem.

To check compatibility, here is what you can check:

1.) The diagnostic tests referred to can be found in the Windows Control Panel under "Phone and Modem Options". Select properties for the modem and go to "Diagnostics". In the diagnostics section, ensure that you are able to use “Query Modem” to interface with your modem, which will ensure that Windows is able to properly communicate with the modem.

If Windows can communicate with the modem, but NowSMS cannot, then on that Diagnostics page, select the option to append to the log file. Try connecting to the modem with NowSMS. Then go back to the Diagnostics screen and view the log file. Reply back with details about the modem.

If Windows fails to communicate with the modem, then that suggests either another program is using the modem and needs to be closed, or the modem driver needs to be re-installed.

2.) The modem might not install a modem driver for an SMS compatible modem, but it might provide a direct COM port access.

To see what COM ports are installed on your system. To see COM ports, go into the System applet in the Windows Control Panel, and access “Device Manager”. In the “Ports (COM & LPT)” section, see if there are any COM ports present associated with your modem. Once you have identified the COM port number, it is possible to add the modem to NowSMS by referencing the COM port number directly instead of using a named modem driver. (However, NowSMS Lite requires a modem driver.) If necessary, it is possible to manually install a Windows Modem driver for this COM port. This can be done through the “Phone & Modem Options” applet in the Windows Control Panel. We recommend that you manually select the modem driver, rather than having Windows detect the modem. For best results, use the “Standard 33600 bps Modem” driver. Verify that Windows diagnostics can query the modem before trying to use it with NowSMS.
