Hi Support Team,

The now sms gateway is not able to send more than 160 character's sms messages. Once the message is more than 160 characters..it sends a bunch of characters like the attached screenshot. The connection is an smpp client through the now sms gateway.

Hi Daniel,

Different SMS providers have different ways of encoding long text messages. So NowSMS has configuration options to enable different encodings.

You posted the same question 2 weeks ago and I responded to it here:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/72336.html

Note that my response there is focused on outbound SMPP connections.

Similar encoding issues can affect connections from an SMPP client, and it is not clear from your message if an SMPP client is submitting messages to NowSMS. (NowSMS expects SMPP clients to use 8-bit encoding for long text messages, but there is a config setting to recognize 7-bit encoding.)

To troubleshoot, I need more information.

1.) What is your outbound SMSC connection? If it is SMPP, please see my other response. Try the different settings and test ONLY by sending from the NowSMS web interface.

2.) If long messages work from the NowSMS web interface, but do not work from your SMPP client, then does your SMPP client have any configuration options for long message encoding?
