hello,
i have some questions:
1. can clickatail act as a PPG server?
2. Handset that have openwave browser may not accept wap push sms (direct sms from NowSms server) because they don't work as specified in the WapForum standards. Does anybody know if clickatail works according to openwave requirements, in other words , is it possible to send wap push from clickatell server to handset with openwave broweser.
3. Does anybody know of PPG server that act according to openwave requirements?

regards, Elad Persiko

Elad,

I think you've been fed some incorrect information.

Statement #2 is not correct. There are no issues of NowSMS's WAP Push functionality not meeting "Openwave requirements" or "WAP Forum standards". That statement is completely incorrect ... and as I'm typing this message, I'm mouthing out expletives (@#**#^$*!!) that I would like to direct to whoever gave you that false information.

The issue that you might be running into is that some older Openwave founds implemented a proprietary non-standard implementation of push. Those phones will only accept a push from an Openwave gateway, and they use an unpublished protocol.

Phones with recent Openwave browsers implement the standard WAP Push protocol, and there are no issues with them.

As for Clickatell, they are an SMS service provider. A "pipe" for sending SMS. Lots of people use Clickatell as their SMS service provider for NowSMS.

If you are experiencing a problem, please provide more information about the handset that you are trying to send a push to. Verify that you can send a push correctly to a handset that does not have an Openwave browser, so that you know that push is even possible using the SMS service that you are sending through.
