Good day. I would like to route SMS (messages) sent from a "USER" account to only use a specific SMPP connection. Example...I only want USER-A to be able to send his messages to SMPP connection B. I have SMPP-A, SMPP-B and SMPP-C. I only wand the "USER" to send all his messages to SMPP-B. How can I have this done? Please help.

Hi, Do you want only USER-A to use SMPP-B? (not USER-B, USER-C, etc.) If so, add USER-A to the "Preferred SMSC Connection for" list SMPP-B, and this will have two effects: Only users listed will be routed via this SMSC connection. Users listed will not be routed via other SMSC connections. This setting only works in recent (2014/2015 versions). For older versions, a "Forced Sender" address can be used for the SMS user account. If this sender address matches the "Default Sender Address" of SMPP-B, that SMSC connection will be used. -- Des NowSMS Support

Thank you for your prompt reply. However, what I want to accomplish is this; Other users should be able to send SMS(messages) to SMPP-B...but I want USER-A to "only" use SMPP-B. I hope I explained it clear to you. Thanks

Forced sender match with SMPP-B is the only way (other than implementing your own accounting callbacks to specify routing).

Thank you. Can you please explain "Forced sender match with SMPP-B". Is this a setting I would need to put in the "USER" directory?

Sorry, I should have explained more. In the "SMS Users", edit the account to have a "Forced Sender Address". Any messages submitted by this user will have this sender address applied. In the "SMSC" list, set this same sender address as the "Default Sender Address". -- Des NowSMS Support |
