The SMPP client is not sending enquire_link while idle (which is a standard requirement for nearly all service providers). If the SMPP server does not see any activity within a timeout period, it will drop the connection. The client is expected to send enquire_link during idle periods to tell the server it is still active.

The server timeouts in the NowSMS SMPP server can be adjusted or disabled. The default timeout is 120 seconds (2 minutes).
