Hi,

10-15 years ago, this used to be a somewhat common requirement. But, it is not very seldom used now.

We used to allow these ports to be configured in the UI, but we removed them because customers would set values without understanding them.

We do still support these settings, but they can only be configured by manually editing the SMSGW.INI file as described below.

* SMPP: Seldom used configuration parameters for specifying the local TCP port that the SMPP client should bind to have been removed from the configuration program interface. These parameters continue to be supported by manual configuration file entries under the [SMPP - server:port] section header of SMSGW.INI: SenderPort=#### specifies the local TCP port to be used for the transmitter or transceiver session, and ReceiverPort=#### specifies the local TCP port to be used for the receiver session.

One thing to note...after connecting and disconnecting, it may take up to 2 minutes before you can connect again (a common TCP limitation for connections between any fixed ip1:port1 and ip2:port2...this is one of the reasons why most client sides use dynamic ports). When you edit a connection in the configuration UI, NowSMS likes to test the connection, so beware of this reconnect timing limit.
