Hi Support.

Wondering if there are any switches that are exposed in the exe that can be used to install NowSMS?

Similar to MSI, can we influence the install directory, apply a license, register services, and register the service user?

I've tried running the exe /silent but this still requires me to accept a 30 day trial license before continuing.

regards

Jose

Hi Jose,

The current installer does not have most of that functionality.

If you want to set the install directory, it is possible to set a registry value. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\NowSMS\NowSMS\InstallDirectory

After the install, SMSGW.EXE /I /Q can install the service quietly.

But the trial pop-up is an issue, as is registering a user account and applying a license.

I'm not familiar with licensing specifics you might have discussed with my colleagues. That would effect how the license gets applied. Are we talking about a site license for a single customer? If so, the license can be applied by adding a file.

In that type of scenario, I'd try to avoid our install program completely. Instead, prepare an installation with your desired configuration, then replicate the NowSMS directory structure that contains this configuration.

There is no "special setup" performed by our installer, other than adding program menu links and an uninstall, which are trivial.
