Des, Can u explain in more detail this new feature Separate text files named ROUTESMS.TXT and ROUTEMMS.TXT can be created to define SMS and/or MMS routing for specific MSISDN numbers and ranges. Example: Route=NameOfRoute +14442223310-15 +14442225500-799 +1410876* +141033378?? Route=NameOfOtherRoute +12125437777 What differance between "NameOfRoute" and "NameOfOtherRoute" Mathew

Hi Mathew, The was implemented for a customer that had a large number of static route requirements for messaging. NameOfRoute and NameOfOtherRoute refer to SMSC route names (or MMS Outbound Routing Account Names) defined in NowSMS. Route=xxxx is a header, and MSISDN numbers or ranges listed under that header will use this route. It is an alternative/additional way of configuring the functionality of the "preferred SMSC connection for" list that can be associated with an SMSC definition. The primary reasons why you might use these files instead of the existing interface are if there are a larger number of entries, or so that changes can be loaded programmatically by updating/creating this file with an external program. -- Des NowSMS Support

Thank You Des. This feature looks very convenient. After changing the file, do we restart the service or it get loaded on its own? If so in what time? Mathew

Des, Instead Of SMSRoute, can we give the SMSC line directly? Mathew

Hi Mathew, If you mean an example like SMPP - a.b.c.d:1234, then yes, this can be used as a route name. If a change is detected, the file will be reloaded within 2 to 3 minutes. — Des NowSMS Support |
