Hi Athos, I do not think that the 5110 has built-in GSM modem support. The 5110 is quite an old model (goes back about 5 or 6 years). As I recall, there was a cable that was sold for this phone which included Nokia software that allowed it to emulate a GSM modem. I believe it was called the Nokia Data Suite. (This should not be confused with the Nokia PC Suite, which is newer and works with more modern Nokia phones. The Nokia Data Suite product was specifically designed to work with the 5110 and 6110, and similar phones.) The Nokia Data Suite software was for older versions of Windows (Windows 95/98 era, maybe also Windows NT 4.0), and it is very likely that it wouldn't work with newer versions of Windows. I found a copy of that software on the Nokia web site at http://www.nokia.com/cda1/0%2C1080%2C2641%2C00.html. But I wouldn't be too optimistic about it. If you can get it installed properly, then NowSMS should be able to work with it. However, we haven't tested with that software, and from what I recall, the Nokia Data Suite was not very stable running the GSM modem interface for long periods of time. -bn |
