There is a known issue that we have yet to address (as of version 2021.03.01), where every time the “System Configuration” page is displayed, the server downloads a small text file from https://nowsms.com and displays information if there is an update available. This check can cause a delay if your server is locked down and does not have external internet access. We are planning to move this feature so that the update check is only performed on demand. However, we have not released this change yet (it is expected by 2021.03.15). This problem can be worked around by defining a /etc/hosts file entry pointing nowsms.com to 127.0.0.1. This will cause the update check to quickly fail, so that it does not produce a delay. Regards, Bryce Norwood NowSMS Support | |||
