Hi Philip, If you are an end-user or content provider, there is usually no reason at all to use the Now.WAP proxy. Just use the standard proxy available through your mobile operator. The Now.WAP proxy is a solution for mobile operators, or for testing labs, or for closed networks with private APNs. Setting up your own Now.WAP proxy often runs into firewall or port restrictions on your mobile operator network. So unless you have a need for it, the first thing I would do is remove NowWAP from the configuration. The Now SMS/MMS Gateway is used for WAP push services ... and it does NOT require that you be running your own WAP proxy/gateway. Does this information help you? If not, I need more information from you about what exactly you are trying to do ... and what happens when you try to do it. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Philip, You can use a standard web server for publishing your WAP content. You would not need to setup your own WAP proxy (e.g., WAP gateway) unless you had some unique configuration requirement. Anyone can connect to your content by putting your URL into their browser ... no special settings required on their mobile phones. NowSMS might enter the picture if you want to send WAP push messages to direct mobile users to your content. But unless I'm missing something, I don't think you have any need for the NowWAP piece. -- Des NowSMS Support |
