Hellow, after the upgrade to the new version our WAPGW (v2011-04-11), in one point of the day doesn't receive any more connections, this happened several times during the week almost 3 or 4 times per week, the solution to be able to receive new connections is restart the windows server 2008, what do you need to perform a deep analysis of what causing this issue in our server?, thanks in advance for your support | |||

Hi José, I assume this is an upgrade. Is it running on the same server as the previous version of NowWAP was? Or is this a different server? What are your typical peak numbers for active users and requests? Is there a virus scanner actively running on the system? If so, try disabling it, as it seems that many virus scanners that try to do real time TCP/IP scanning can get overwhelmed. One other question ... for troubleshooting, is it possible to arrange for us to temporarily use remote access to try to monitor the problem? -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Alex, I'd be concerned that there might be an illegal serial number installed, which may be causing problems. That said, it is possible that you've just masked those details in the log (like the IP addresses have been masked) and the serial number is actually legal, so I don't want to jump to conclusions. I just have to mention this because it may be the cause of the problems. Assuming the serial number is legitimate, there is an update that may help if NowWAP is running out of memory. There is a newer version that addresses some known issues at http://www.nowsms.com/download/wapgw2012.zip I would also caution against running a virus scanner in active mode on the system. Virus scanners simply are not designed to keep up with this type of load, particularly for real time scanning. I am particularly concerned about the one log fragment with the 10048 errors, as this suggests resources being held open that should have been released automatically by the operating system. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi, Des, Thanks for your prompt reply. I understand your opininon. But I mask ip address's cause security reasons. I don't consider that key is not valid, because several years ago company purchase it. Out memory issue works I check all process in Win2k8 x64 (by threads) I found follow: wap3gxnt.exe, wap3gxnt.exe, wap3gx.exe. I think also ok. I consider to change Antivirus Protection on the server. Hi Alex, My concern is that if the license is for 65535 users, it is not a valid license. For virus scanner, we do not recommend any. It is ok to periodically run a scheduled disk based scan, but real time scans are almost always a problem. Take a look at what NowWAP reports for active requests ... the issue is that virus scanning software is typically just not built to handle active scanning for a large number of concurrent connections. Excessive per connection memory usage by real time scanning can cause out-of-memory conditions in NowWAP or the TCP/IP stack. Frequently these virus scanners have small memory leaks that lead to eventual out-of-memory conditions over time. CPU overhead can also lead to unexpected issues. As a point of reference, Kaspersky has a virus scanner especially designed for proxy servers. But their minimum supported configuration details support for 20 requests per minute. That is a very light load, but I mention it as a point of reference. Our experience is that any type of real time virus scanning leads to problems. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
