Hi Des/NowWAP support We are getting some errors related to NowWAP RADIUS Accounting, Here is an example: 10.3.6.148 - [27/Jan/2011:14:10:20 -0600] "CONNECT www.equifax.com.sv:443" "BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.351 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/373" "Error: Unable to determine phone number from dial-in server." Looking at this log, the WAPGW was unable to found the MSISDN related to this IP Address, looking on RADIUS Accounting DB: +-------+------------+------------+-------------+---------------+--------------- ---------+------------+-----------------+-----------+----------+---------------- ----------+ | STATE | TIME_STAMP | EXPIRY | USERNAME | SGSN | POOL | YIADDR | SUBNETMASK | DNSSERVER | PASSWORD | DATEANDTIME | +-------+------------+------------+-------------+---------------+--------------- ---------+------------+-----------------+-----------+----------+---------------- ----------+ | 0 | 1296159072 | 1296757835 | 50377602098 | 200.89.81.193 | wap.digiceljamaica.com | 10.3.6.148 | 255.255.255.255 | | NULL | Thu Jan 27 12:30:35 2011 | The user did have the IP Address assigned since 12:30, the URL Request and WAPGW error happen on 14:10 Looking on NowWAP RADIUS.LOG Accounting-Connect,27/Jan/2011:12:30:36 -0600,NASIP=172.26.147.9,NASPort=29504168,PhoneNumber=50377602098,UserName=wapus er,SourceIP=172.26.5.85,AssignedIP=10.3.6.148,3GPP-SGSN-ADDRESS=200.89.81.193,3G PP-IMSI=706021000253098 The WAPGW receive the accounting info for this MSISDN when the user was active, but, even that MowWAP have the proper info is refusing a connection 2 hours later for the same user, the last related log for this: Accounting-Disconnect,27/Jan/2011:14:11:12 -0600,NASIP=172.26.147.9,NASPort=29504168,PhoneNumber=50377602098,UserName=wapus er,SourceIP=172.26.5.85,AssignedIP=10.3.6.148,3GPP-SGSN-ADDRESS=200.89.81.193,3G PP-IMSI=706021000253098 Was one minute later, when the user restart the handset to get the normal browsing. This issue happens randomly, but is affecting our users experience, since they will need to restart the handset to access any website. We will appreciate your help to solve this problem. | |||

Hi Des, Thanks for the reply NO, Its a different issue. WAPGW log file is a a kind of big( around 1.5GiB), do you any FTP where we can upload that file? OR you can instruct us to get a specific log in the file ? thank you | |||

Hi Ronald, Unfortunately the machine that we had setup as an FTP server for log file uploads does not appear to be working. I'll have to talk with an IT guy on Monday. Another posting here (I believe one of your colleagues at a different customer site) makes me wonder if you are experiencing a similar problem. If you look at the NowWAP statistics screen, are you seeing unexpected restarts? (Service not reported as being active for as long as it should be.) This could be resetting the NowWAP RADIUS tables. I believe you updated NowWAP late last year. We have found some potential problems with that update. I'd suggest installing the following update for the WTLS version of NowWAP: http://www.nowsms.com/download/wapwtls20110128.zip If you are not running the WTLS version, please use this update: http://www.nowsms.com/download/wapgw20110128.zip -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Des, We have able to upgrade the NowWAP gateway server with version 20110128 but Status still shows the service was active for 10 Minutes ago when it should be 9 Hours at least. Same issues as well on http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/131/69808.html Looking on the ERROR log file there are 4077 errors related to this behavior $ grep -i "Error: Unable to determine phone number from dial-in server." ERROR-20110201.LOG | wc -l 4077 Waiting for your feedback. Regards. | |||

Hi Des, We are communicating with top management if you can remote access to the server since we are using VPN to connect to the server. If not possible, can you give us the proper procedure so we can do further diagnostic ourselves. Thank you, Randy |
