I'm trying to send MMS to a cell phone thur Clickatell. So far I'm managed to do the following: 1) using Mmslib from http://www.hellkvist.org/software/ to create a .mms file. I encode a .jpg file to a .mms file. (I also tried to decode that .mms file to obtain the image back. The decoded image looks fine, so I assume the .mms file works fine also) 2) using the info found in the Clickatell's support forum titled "Can I send MMS messages?" I was able to send a MMS notification to my cell phone. The notification was sent successfully, but it cannot download the .mms from my server. So I did the following to test the connectivity: * I sent a mms notification with a mms URL of http://www.mydomain.com/mms/test1.mms to my cell * the notification arrive, but when download the .mms, it said communication error * I go back to my server, rename my test1.mms to test2.mms, and try to download the mms using my cell phone again * error again (of cause) * after looking at my web server log file, it said there is a request from some IP looking for test1.mms but it cannot find it Great, so my cell phone did managed to reach my webserver So as you can see, my cell phone did connect to my web server trying to get the mms file. But for some reason, when downloading the file, there is a communication error. Is it because the .mms file that I encoded using Mmslib is not in the right format? How do I make a mms file?? Is there any other way to encode a mms message in Linux? Have you ever tried to use Mmslib to make a mms file (if so, does it work)? Any help would be appreciated Warren

I'm sorry, but this is the support forum for the Now SMS/MMS Gateway software product. You might want to try reposting your question in one of the areas of the forum that are marked as being not for product support. This area is for product support, and my priority is to answer product support questions ... sorry, but I just don't have the time to answer all technical questions that are not related to our products. For general information on how MMS works, please see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm. -bn

Hi Erwin, Can you send an SMS with NowSMS talking to the modem over bluetooth? If yes, then you most likely need NowSMS to send MMS messages over GPRS to the operator MMSC. This requires that you configure the MMS settings for your mobile operator (GPRS APN, WAP gateway, etc.), into NowSMS. See the links from here: http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/491.html If you're not able to send any SMS, then does NowSMS recognise your modem successfully in the SMSC list? If it doesn't, you might need to install a modem driver from the manufacturer's web site ... what type of mobile phone is it? -bn |
