  Hi, trying to do a direct delivery on nowsms, when the MMS is sent over SMTP connection, server response (over SMPP) is the message is delivered but the notification is not received on the device so the network admin sent me this attached file and said to adjust my settings to this specification. My question is : 1) can I adjust nowsms DCS hex value to 0x0f5 and UDH value to 0504158A158A according the settings required? | |||

NowSMS does use DCS 0xF5 for MMS notification. 0504158A158A is NOT valid UDH for MMS. MMS uses WAP Push (0605040B8423F0). The 0504158A158A you refer to was used for very limited basic images in the Nokia Smart Messaging protocol which is obsolete and not supported by modern devices. Problems with MMS notifications can be hard to troubleshoot, because many devices will not show that they have received an MMS notification, if the device cannot retrieve the MMS content URL (contained in MMS Notification) using the MMS APN settings configured in the device. In the MMSC settings, the external host name becomes the host name in that notification URL. The device needs to connect back to the nowSMS server via this host name. Assuming the above is OK, many operators block delivery from external MMSCs. If the operator has different APN settings for MMS and internet, then it is likely that it is likely that external MMSC delivery is blocked and the MMS APN only supports the operator MMSC. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
